New Orleans, TRIP OF A LIFE TIME

Hello Everyone,

This is our TRIP OF A LIFE TIME !  We started out October 20 heading for New Orleans to be part of Peggy's God-son (Kevin's), wedding. The wedding is October 29.  Kevin ask Peggy to be a reader and is very honored.

We plan to visit family and friends along the way, stopping in Everson, PA; Springhill, TN; Jacksonville, FL; Cary, NC; Raleigh, NC; and Lancaster, PA.  'Triptik', calculated 3000 miles and at least three weeks.

October 20, 2016--It was one of the most gorgeous road trips we had been on, traveling down Rt 6 from Waverly, heading to Pittsburg area.  The views were absolutely "the best I had seen" (Peggy adds, "In '73 years !"). Problem was my battery died and didn't get any beautiful pictures of the country side.

Our first stop was to visit cousin Carrie , Everson, PA (SE of Pittsburg).

This is the house where cousin Carrie and son Dennis and family live.
This is Carrie's part of the house. They added a bedroom with two sets of these windows. Carrie's plants are gorgeous. She has her own renovated kitchen and living room.

The above three pictures were taken at Penn State.  Peggy saw a sign for Visitor's Center, so we turned into campus.  The sign was for the Football Stadium and campus.  That was OK as we saw the 80,000 Football Stadium  and close by the  Dairy Research Facilities. I love dairy animals.

We then traveled on to Kentucky.

The best was our meal at "Blue Isle"  in Winchester, KY.
The BBQ ribs were out of this world.  This was a 1/2 order.

That's all for now.  We can't wait to visit the nieces in Tennessee.

Love, Uncle Jimmy and Peggy

Camping at Russell Brook Campsite, September 2016

Hi,
Peggy, Sally-the cat, and I went camping at Russell Brook Campsite near Roscoe, New York.  The weather was gorgeous, the campground was great with the trees and brook.

We had a wonderful relaxing time.  There is plenty of room for tents on site #39.
